PROESTRUTURA designers assign the architecture and infrastructures for the Criminal Investigation Police of East Timor and Forensics Science Laboratory, to be built in Dili – East Timor, in a near future.
PROESTRUTURA technicians developed the building complex from the beginning, giving all the necessary consultancy services to the local authorities, based on their previous experience in the design and the construction of Police and Judicial buildings and facilities.
The building is composed by 4 floors above ground level and a basement floor, made in reinforced concrete and metal works structures. Located in Dili’s urban centre, in a lot site of 9070m2 with average size dimensions: 68,5m width and 134,5m length. With a modern and bold image, the building main entry is a steel pyramid representing a traditional Timorese house. The complex develops an "F" plan, consisting mainly on two buildings interconnected by metal structure passageways between the Criminal Investigation Police Building and the Forensics Science Laboratory. The total construction area is 13687m2. The building will have facilities for modern telecommunication networks, social areas including Bar and Restaurant, Car Parking Area, Archives and Warehouse, Pistol Fire Range, Computers Data Centre, Prison Cells and other facilities for law enforcement and forensics, both interconnected.
The exterior landscape design benefits the law enforcement infrastructure and also contains a car parking area on the surface. The sports park was designed to function as helipad when operationally necessary.
The entire perimeter is protected by walls and railings. The whole complex is prepared to be equipped with modern electronic surveillance equipment.
All building complex was designed to have fully independent operation from external support facilities and public networks, self-sustaining in renewable energy, including solar and photovoltaic installations, electrical facilities, including a power station, and water supply infrastructures, including pumping stations and water reservoirs.
